On April 30, 2025, the Muntinlupa City Cooperative Development Council (MCCDC) held its 4th General Assembly Meeting at Acacia Hotel Manila. The event brought together cooperative chairpersons from across the city, along with representatives from various national government agencies and local offices.
Distinguished guests included Mayor Ruffy Biazon, Congressman Jimmy Fresnedi, and Councilor Eliot Martinez, Chairperson of the Committee on Livelihood and Cooperatives. Each shared meaningful messages of support and encouragement for the cooperative sector.
The program opened with a training session on the Safe Spaces Act and CDA Memorandum Circular No. 2024-16, led by Atty. Eleonor Hernandez. This was followed by a session on Gender and Development, themed “Creating Inclusive Cooperative Services: Integrating a Gender Perspective in Programs and Activities.” Mr. Ryan Dela Luna also provided updates from the Cooperative Development Authority.
During the General Assembly Meeting proper, MCCDC reviewed its accomplishments from the previous year and outlined upcoming projects for 2025. Government agencies also shared updates on compliance requirements and introduced programs that cooperatives may benefit from.
An open forum allowed members to freely express their concerns, leading to deeper insights into the challenges faced by cooperatives and fostering a more collaborative atmosphere.
Our office remains steadfast in its support for a more progressive and inclusive future for cooperatives in Muntinlupa.
